Many species of reptile and amphibian require a warm spot under which they can bask, and become fully energised with heat and Ultra Violet. As in nature, these basking zones should be UV rich and stable. These lamps emit a safe natural amount of UVB and a balanced UVA similar to wild exposure at lower fitting heights and also produce a good stable amount of heat.
These lamps are particularly suited to being fitted inside wooden vivaria and over mesh topped Terraria with a target height of 20-30cms from lamp to animal.
These are mercury vapour bulbs, and are safe when kept intact around your reptile – hand them vertically in your reptile’s habitat to allow the convections currents to circulate normally within the bulb, meaning you should get around 6000 hours of light, UV and heat out of each bulb, complete with a one year guarantee!* As with all Mercury Vapour bulbs, these cannot be used with thermostats, and should only be used in large enclosures, or open top tables.

By default light bulbs are classed as consumable items so would not be covered by the warranty an electronic device would have. However we are so confident in the performance of these bulbs that for complete peace of mind we provide a one year exchange period for any bulb that develops a fault. Please read the usage instructions carefully as if followed there is unlikely to be any issue. In the rare event that your light bulb develops a fault within a one year period it can simply be exchanged for a new bulb (Free within 28 days or a £3 administration and postage fee if after 28 days).
